Sometimes we do things because we “know” they’re good for us, right? But then, do you at times realize that just knowing isn’t enough, but find you need to be reminded of the “why”?

Me too! So, here’s a little reminder of what you already know about exercise.

{By exercise, I don’t mean the time you spend at a gym. I’m talking about the time you spend moving! Going up and down stairs, mopping the floor, pushing a stroller- walking or jogging, gardening, mowing the lawn, chasing little people, etc. If we think that the only exercise that counts requires special clothes and time away, we’re not getting all the benefit we could from what we’re already doing in daily life! Our work is a blessing! If we put our minds in the game, from sunup to sundown, we’ll see we’re getting much more physical activity than we think! And since we gain so much from movement, we might as well re-frame our thinking and enjoy it as much as possible!}

Here are just a few of the health benefits of exercise:

-we move wastes out of the body more efficiently, including the important process of elimination from our skin through sweating
-deep breathing increases our oxygen supply
-endorphins are are released as we exercise and improve our mental state
-muscles are toned and strengthened
-burn off excesses from overeating, helping us maintain a healthy weight
-our large muscles pump the lymph system which moves out toxins and excess water
-in general, we support our body’s natural ability to cleanse all pathways of elimination
-our posture is improved with muscle strength
-our overall outlook is improved

Congested, sluggish digestion is at the root of much illness and disease. I challenge you to re-commit if needed, to doing some form of physical exercise every day, and also chalk up the things you already do ‘to your health’, instead of thinking that all that stuff, like say cleaning, is drudgery!

If you need help getting motivated, write declarations that will support your desire to be active!

“I exercise for fun!”
“I love to move!”
“I am at my ideal weight!”
“I feel great, I am strong and getting stronger every day!”

Be well!

Love,

Jacque

P.S. Take a cue from your kids and run and jump and play with them! Go for a bike ride, jump on the trampoline, play hopscotch, shoot hoops, throw a football, go roller-skating! They’ll be in heaven and you will get to be in the present with the best “live-your-life-now” teachers there are!
