Here is a post from two years ago, that I want to dust off and share with you again today.
It’s a quote from someone who has done a great deal of writing about addiction, codependency and recovery. Her name is Melody Beattie and she’s been an incredible teacher to me as I have read her work.
“Where has God gone? Why has He gone away? Why has He let this happen? Why won’t He help? Why has He abandoned me?”
“God hasn’t abandoned us. We abandoned ourselves. He’s there, and He cares.
But He expects us to cooperate by caring for ourselves.”
Codependent No More, Melody Beattie
So go ahead and take a break, feel the sun on your face and give thanks for all the gifts and beauty in your life.
Friends, our people are counting on us to care for ourselves so that we can care for them in healthy ways.
Love,
“The mission of Lioness at the Door is to uplift, strengthen and encourage women of all ages to magnify health, hope and happiness at home. We do so boldly, with humility and gratitude for the opportunity.”
I’ll have you know I’ve been drinking a lot of water today and I’m currently sitting in my comfy robe after having washed AND moisturized my face and rocked my baby to sleep. About to write in my journal and go to bed… before 8 pm! This has been a very good and thought provoking challenge for me!
Woohoo!! Good for you! It’s wonderful to learn that we can put ourselves in comfort and re-charging every time we need it! xo
I keep loosing my water bottle but have located it again and determined to get my 80 oz. today. I am pleased to be able to report that I have done my morning routine everyday this week… not always getting the exercise and meditation but the prayer/scriptures and planning….. it is a work in progress.
That is a wonderful report Lannette! Good for you and thank you for being inspiring! xo
