Here’s a simple but power-packed question for you to consider:
What if you knew, deep in your bones, that you are fully and unconditionally loved, right now?
In other words, what if you knew you didn’t have to prove yourself in order to be loved? Or to prove all of womankind? And especially that you don’t need to single-handedly save the world?
Mmm, would that free up a little space in your life?
What would you do with your time?
What decisions would you make about how you dress? Wear your hair? What you read? How you respond to the needs of others?
I challenge you to answer these questions quickly, just going with your gut response!
Write your answers on paper.
Or better yet, in your journal.
Today.
See what clarity comes!
See how this exercise might inform your decisions about the upcoming year.

Much love to you,
P. S. You have been, and are unconditionally adored, cherished and beloved every day of your life!

Your posts are so often a tender mercy in my life. That’s true with this one. There was a little desire in my heart to behave in such a way that I could win the love of a person I am involved in my church calling with. I didn’t notice it was there until I considered your questions. It would be nice if they loved me, but it’s not necessary. I don’t need to expend any excess energy to prove myself there. God loves me, I’m doing my best to follow Him, and that is enough.
Dear Jenna, thank you for your feedback, and yes, I think you are wise! All the times I have erroneously shifted my motive to proving instead of loving and serving, it has been a back step! And I see later, the self-centeredness and pride that is at the heart of wanting to prove myself to others. On the other hand, wanting to cultivate true friendship requires the strength to be vulnerable, quite the opposite of feeling “less than.” God bless you as you do much that is positive and powerful in your callings. xo
It seems overwhelming when we look around and see all the ways we fall short of expectations and outward pressures. But looking up and inward always gives us the validation that we are enough. Thanks for the reminder to be looking in the right places for the truth about who we are and our worth. ❤️ I am constantly needing to refocus on that thought.
Yes Heather, you are not alone in that need! Seems like understanding our true identity is the core of our hope and strength. Thank you for being here and for your comment and have a Merry Christmas! xo
