The story that is being told in our heads can determine whether we truly care for ourselves or not.

And how easy or difficult self-care will be.

If it’s a negative or stagnant story, it may be draining our energy and resources.

If it’s a story of forward motion, of forgiveness and reconciliation, of accountability and change, it’s probably giving us energy!

If we are hearing strains of kindness and worth, we’ll be drawn to the things that will bless us with greater health and happiness.

If we are running a mental program of feeling less than or unworthy, we may push away the things that would help us feel better.

What’s your story?

How close is it between what you believe about yourself and what God’s truth is about you?

To ensure that your self-care behaviors continue, consider getting a paper and pencil, or better yet, pull out your journal and write a new story about your life! About what you believe about where you’ll be in the future.

This doesn’t have to be a time-consuming exercise, just jot down the way you want to see yourself and the way you want to see your future and the ways that you need to care for yourself.

Even a few paragraphs can be life-changing.

Once you have a few things on paper, make a simple copy to put on your mirror or closet, or anywhere you’ll see it often.

Then practice playing that new story in your mind throughout the coming days– and enjoy the self-care that you, a positive and contented person can create and accept.

I wish you every good thing!

Much love,
