Is there a challenge in your life that has you nervous or scared?
Are there gatherings to plan or lessons or exams or late nights or difficult days coming up?
I have been reminded that focusing on the difficulties, the soul-stretching experiences that we aren’t quite sure we’ll survive, can expand our anxiety and make our burden heavier.
But, when we focus on the joyful outcome of our labors, we are lifted and strengthened and all is joy now!
To you little mothers especially, hold in your mind the joy of seeing your children growing and becoming their best selves! They will grow out of tormenting each other and become loyal friends; they will return again to you with gratitude; they will give you many, many reasons for gladness along with the sleepless nights and challenging days that are part of the package.
Just go straight for the joy in your mind now, and it will catapult you into a positive, anticipating space where you can effectively teach and train and love and accept your little ones on their unique journey.
You are doing a great work. Our society needs you like we have never before.
Sending you much love and thanks for your unending efforts and dedication to the success of your family, and our collective family.

C.S. Lewis, The Great Divorce
“Son,’he said,’ ye cannot in your present state understand eternity…That is what mortals misunderstand. They say of some temporal suffering, “No future bliss can make up for it,” not knowing that Heaven, once attained, will work backwards and turn even that agony into a glory. And of some sinful pleasure they say “Let me have but this and I’ll take the consequences”: little dreaming how damnation will spread back and back into their past and contaminate the pleasure of the sin. Both processes begin even before death. The good man’s past begins to change so that his forgiven sins and remembered sorrows take on the quality of Heaven: the bad man’s past already conforms to his badness and is filled only with dreariness. And that is why…the Blessed will say “We have never lived anywhere except in Heaven, : and the Lost, “We were always in Hell.” And both will speak truly.”
