You know that Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

And I’ve been wondering lately, what peace does the world give? Besides the beauty of the earth, that soul-quieting stillness in nature, I really can’t think of any.

His peace, so starkly different from that of the pressures of this proud and clamoring world, is that of a clear conscience; a grateful heart; a sense of purpose; a feeling of belonging, acceptance and love; a sense of what matters in the long run; mostly that He is at my side, and at your side, guiding and shaping our destiny, if we will listen and follow.

Reading our sacred texts and pondering their message brings immediate relief from stress and clarity of mind, two things desperately needed when pressure and expectations are high!

And of course, prayer is the greatest “self-care” available.

At this Christmastime, I hope we will all choose and accept His glorious peace.

Much love to you,
