Hello my Sister, I hope this finds you well.
Today I’m writing a reminder (or a novel dot connector!) about the futility of those unloving behaviors we use (mostly unconsciously) to get something we feel we are lacking or to protect ourselves from a perceived threat.
As a refresher, those behaviors are these:
1 Clinging (rattling on and on and on in some cases)
2 Attacking
3 Running
4 Lying
5 Acting like a victim
While we do these things without a second thought, out of years of habit, mostly learned from our upbringing, they signal a need.
And the blasted thing is that, as long as we continue in these unloving habits, we will be unable to have our real need met! Does this make sense??
See the conundrum???
We need to feel loved–
So we try to manipulate the world into giving us that!
Only while we are manipulating, what we do receive can never be unconditional love….
Because we are setting the conditions with our manipulative behaviors!!!!
God help us all to see the futility in this merry-go-round!
We have to stop.
Stop talking incessantly.
Stop attacking everyone, even if it is with irritated sighs!
Stop running away from conversations and the hard parts of love.
Stop lying about who we are and just show up as ourselves.
And most of all,
Stop acting like the wounded animal that the world is out to get!
God help us to practice far greater honesty than we ever have before, receive His grace and power, and
Start a new dance!
One that is full of peaceful relationships, healthy bodies and joy in serving the God we love by serving His children!
Sending you my love,
