While visiting with a lovely client recently, we spent some time pulling apart the need we sometimes have for distraction.

The kind that is always at our fingertips; blingy and bright and has moving pictures; is deliberately designed to engage our senses and keep us entranced as time, the stuff of life, floats by.

What is the need, that leads us as a culture, to kill the very thing we say we don’t have enough of to pursue the goals we set or spend with the people we love?

We decided that it was, in this specific case, a lack of feeling safe. Of being concerned about so many things all at once that an escape feels necessary!

Ironically, this overwhelming concern for safety is amplified by many of the digital distractions that are available! So the cycle is overfed and coddled by our time-wasting media habits.

What to do?

My wise client came up with these goals/steps:

1 Unplug. Turn off notifications on all apps and get rid of apps that aren’t serving you. Just do it.

2 Invite & Meditate. Ask for good influences to be around you and a part of your daily routines; God, angels, friends, wise women and wise men along with self-crafted declarations to rehearse and memorize that will fortify your resolve to be in a calm and confident space. Breathe.

3 Feel Loved. Concentrate on the fact that you are loved unconditionally every minute of every day. Know it. Feel it. Look for it. Recognize the many ways people around you are showing their love for you. Feeling loved is the only way we can be loving.

Being a Lioness is all about becoming aware; recognizing then taking charge of the conversation in your head, directing your heart toward your highest good, and being a true leader in your family. As a leader, your example becomes your authority.

We can do this!

Much love to you!
