Do you ever have days when you feel that you are coming apart at the seams?
As if you have been so stretched and so challenged with all you have to attend to that your thoughts feel disjointed and you feel almost fractured, mind, body and soul?
If or when you ever feel that way, here’s a challenge:
Stop for a few minutes, be still and ask for help.
It’s a desire, then a heartfelt prayer; the recognition of a state of being that feels out of control, but isn’t.
States of being can be changed, sometimes in an instant!
New energy can come. New hope can change perspective.
Gratitude can wipe away the burden of stress and change a narrow, concerned focus into a broader outlook of joy!
In prayer, we can listen for the still, small whisper that directs us to the next step we can take to create greater, deeper peace in our lives.
That inspired next step may be remembering to add the “big rocks” to your schedule first.
It may be spending time, asking to feel the love of God throughout the day.
It may be creating and defending the time you need to connect with heaven; with the knowledge of who you are and the love, hope, light and strength that is available to you always.
I have experienced this collecting of myself on many occasions! As the events of my life have demanded my evolution, I have been drawn to my knees. I witness that peace is available, and opportunities for creating newness and light are there for the asking!
Of a woman in heaven, C. S. Lewis wrote:
“The Happy Trinity is her home: nothing can trouble her joy.
She is the bird that evades every net: the wild deer that leaps every pitfall.
Like the mother bird to its chickens or a shield to the arm’d knight: so is the Lord to her mind, in His unchanging lucidity.
Bogies will not scare her in the dark: bullets will not frighten her in the day.
Falsehoods tricked out as truths assail her in vain: she sees through the lie as if it were glass.
The invisible germ will not harm her: not yet the glittering sun-stroke.
A thousand fail to solve the problem, ten thousand choose the wrong turning: but she passes safely through.
He details immortal gods to attend her upon every road where she must travel.
They take her hand at hard places: she will not stub her toes in the dark.
She may walk among Lions and rattlesnakes: among dinosaurs and nurseries of lionets.
He fills her brim-full with immensity of life: he leads her to see the world’s desire.”
(The Great Divorce, C. S. Lewis)
May the Lord be to you, a shield.
May you be lifted up, to bear your unique burdens.
May God bless you today and always!
With love,
The mission of Lioness at the Door is to uplift, strengthen and encourage women of all ages to magnify health, hope and happiness at home. We do so boldly, with humility and gratitude for the opportunity.
Beautiful tribute to a woman by C. S. Lewis. Thanks.
He is a genius isn’t he? I have read that passage many times, but it recently hit me in this different way. xo
