Journaling. What a magical word!
If you haven’t discovered this tool, I hope you will give it a try!
If something is bothering you, you can dump it out of your mind by writing it out.
If you aren’t sure how to solve a problem, write it out.
If you want to have a better plan for your days, write it out.
If you want to tell your children’s children’s children about what is important to you, write it out.
Then, if you want to see how you’ve grown over the past year or five years or ten, read what you wrote!
If you want to remember how you felt about things when you were in the middle of a big learning moment {challenge} in your life, revisit your journal and gain strength from your own courage!
Keeping a journal is incredible therapy. {It has been for me for four decades!} You don’t have to write every day. You don’t have to record everything you did. You can make the experience of journaling whatever you want it to be! But I’d challenge you to write something! Once a week, once a month, even once a year is better than nothing!
Even now, when I have felt inspired to go back and reread some of the events in my life, I have been blessed by having that catalyst for self-understanding, self-forgiveness and greater understanding of my family and friends. {It is amazing what we forget!}
I hope you will continue to care for yourself in every way! Keeping a journal is one way to let your voice be heard! To express yourself! To progress!
Love to you!
Our first week is coming to a close! If you haven’t already, please make a comment about what you are discovering about yourself in this 30 Day Self-Care Challenge!
I love the video you’ve made and I feel that watching it everyday has inspired in me more motivation and a desire to do things better. One example—I stayed caught up on dishes this entire week—a true miracle for me! Something I did this week for self care—I found a scripture -that went along with the week’s study topic -that had been made into a picture to color. So I printed it and colored it and hung it on my mirror. Something simple, but it brought me joy.
Thank you Emily, I love your thoughts and what you have accomplished! Keeping up on dishes is a big deal, way to go!
You also bring up a good point that self-care is anything that brings you hope and joy. Thank you so much for sharing. xo
